I went over to David and CC’s place to pick up one of Maddie’s cribs (she had two), and obviously got sucked into baby timewarp where nobody can escape (15 minutes turns into hours). I guess you don’t realize all of the small milestones in life until you have a baby (or in my case, your sister has a baby). Well, Maddie hit another one today by picking up something for the first time. That something was her rattle, and she got pretty assertive with it. I captured it all on my cell phone. I’m starting to realize that I might need to keep a better video capture device in my pocket while around Miss Rose.

Two Week Check Up
Today Madeline Rose went for her two week check up. She’s doing great, and weighs in at 7 lb 15 oz and is 21″ long. They were very impressed with how alert she is and smart, too! ; ) Here’s a picture of Mom and Baby in the examining room.
Baby Madeline Meets Great Grandma Barbara
CC and I went to visit our Grandma Barbara earlier today at the nursing home. Madeline is two weeks old already, and Grandma still hasn’t met her great granddaughter. My grandma was planning on meeting Madeline at Easter in a few weeks, but we decided to pop-in unannounced and visit her today and surprise her with the baby. I decided to video the event from my cellphone just in case something funny happened (you never know with Grandma Barbie). She was in the dining room playing BINGO when we got there, so we decided to sneak CC and Maddie into her room and await her surprised reaction. I’m truly happy we got it on video, because it might be the first time in all my life I’ve ever seen her choke up with emotions like she did. Below is the video…enjoy
